Because central and local government agencies can have a significant impact on people with experience of mental illness, Like Minds focuses on the area of policy development.

The policy project aims to identify policy and practices and to support both national and regional initiatives to make change. The policy project has identified a number of policy areas to work on in more depth, including:

• employment;
• education and training;
• service users as parents;
• insurance; and
• housing.
